On Monday we received the sad news that Taxon Nkuna had passed away. Many of us at WildEarth worked with and knew Taxon, many in our community will know him from shared great sightings while he guided for Djuma, or from the time in 2008 when he was a guide and camera operator for WildEarth in the early days of our LIVE safaris.
As others have also shared, he will be hugely missed for his generous and kind nature. We send our deepest condolences to his wife, children, family, friends and community.
To honour his memory and think back to the many great moments and sightings we shared with him, we will observe a minute of silence during our Sunset Safari today (July 29th) at 16:30 CAT (07:30 AM PDT, 10:30 AM EDT, 15:30 BST, 16:30 CET, 00:30+ AEST)
Djuma is currently looking into ways to support Taxon’s family. If you would like to support this, please keep an eye on Djuma’s Facebook page for further information in the coming days.

Hi,
I have been out working crazy hours at the hospital with covid so I may have missed this, but how might I be able to help Taxon’s family?

So, so sad to read this post. I used to be a loyal follower andI he will surely be missed. My sincere condolences to his family.😪😪
My condolences to all who knew and loved Taxon. He was such a kind, lovely and humorous man. He was the first face to greet me when I first came to Djuma. I was so lucky to have spent both of my times at Djuma with Taxon as our guide. I wish his family all the best. HE will not be forgotten.
So sorry to hear of the passing of a WE family member. I haven’t been a follower for very long, but I can see the love and caring you have for each other. It’s a special gift. Blessings to Taxon’s family and to all of you.
