Karula, meaning peace, was also affectionately known as the Queen of Djuma during her lifetime. She was born in 2004 as the daughter of Safari and, most likely, Mufufunyane. Karula was well-known for being an excellent mother and beating the odds to successfully raise multiple litters of cubs to adulthood. With her calm and relaxed demeanour, she was a favourite of viewers and guests alike. She suddenly disappeared in March of 2017, leaving behind her last two cubs, Hosana and Xongile, to survive on their own.
