Swazi and his littermate Ndebele were born in late August/early September of 2018 to Pretty. In July of 2020, Swazi was seen on the Djuma dam cam with a wire or snare loosely hanging around his neck. A search ensued to try and removee this but he managed to elude those were trying to find him and help him for days. When they finally caught up with him, the wire wass removed and it was found he had not sustained an injury from it.
